Michael Dawson

Michael has been a member of the PEAK Sports And Spine Centre team since completing his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in 2014. He was drawn to a career in physiotherapy as he saw this as a vehicle to help people live more fulfilled lives.

He is passionate about helping all levels of athletes move out of pain, towards an active-based injury prevention program, and then onto sports specific performance goals specific to you. He applies the latest research and understanding of manual therapy including massage, dry needling, and spinal manipulation therapy, coupled with a tailored home exercise program specific to your needs to get the best health outcome.

Michael has been a member of the Professional Golf Association Medical team at events including the Australian PGA, as he is positioned as a leading golf-specific physiotherapist. He has completed advanced golf-specific study including both the Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 Medical and Level 2 Power certifications, along with superspeed golf training. He is passionate about helping golfers reduce golf related pain, design golf-specific injury mobility programs and help golfers with performance-based clubhead speed and distance training.

His other professional interest includes CrossFit – being both an active member of the CrossFit community himself, as well as treating some of the best crossfitters in the world including Rich Froning and numerous other athletes that have reached the Crossfit Games. His belief is that the sport of CrossFit places athletes in some of the most demanding physical positions of any sport, so therefore it is crucial to prepare your body as best as possible.
