Overview

What are Physio Home Visits?

Physiotherapy at home provides you with the opportunity to access a range of Physiotherapy treatments designed to address pain, impairments, disabilities and dysfunction, with the goal of restoring your mobility, function and quality of life. Your experience will be similar to what you would experience in one of our clinics with the Physiotherapy appointment being performed in the comfort and convenience of your own home.

How Does Physiotherapy at Home Work?

Your initial appointment with your PEAK Physiotherapist will involve your Practitioner getting to know you and understanding your complaint. Your Physiotherapist may then perform a physical examination to build a further picture of what is going on and to assist with building a tailored treatment plan. Once completed, you and your PEAK Physiotherapist will work together to create a realistic and achievable plan in order to help you achieve your goals.

Your PEAK Physiotherapist will guide you through this plan utilising a variety of treatment techniques that may include exercise, advice and education, manual therapy and much more. Following this, your Practitioner will ensure you are set up for success with a personalised exercise program and open communication to ensure you are supported through every step of the plan.

Via Physio Home Visits? What Conditions Can Be Treated

The following are common conditions that can be treated from a home visit.

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Pain is a complex area of your body that can have many causes and sources for pain. Let our skilled Practitioners come to you to diagnose and provide you with a clear plan to treat your shoulder pain . Your Practitioner will provide you with a plan to help reduce pain, improve your strength and help you return to normal function using techniques such as manual therapy and exercises.

Back Pain

Low back pain is the most common musculoskeletal condition affecting the population with a lifetime prevalence of 60-70% in industrialised countries. An episode of low back pain can make it difficult to drive or transport to a clinic for help. Our Physiotherapy practitioners will come to you to treat your low back pain using an evidence-based approach. Our Physiotherapy Practitioners can help diagnose, treat and provide exercises and coaching to build function and resilience to prevent the return of further issues.

Foot Pain

Our Mobile Physiotherapists can help you manage your foot pain by performing a biomechanical and gait (walking) assessment in the comfort of your home. The way you move gives our Physiotherapists an idea of the underlying cause of your problem which may be contributing to the source of pain. After performing a thorough assessment, your treatment may include soft tissue release, dry needling, taping and a home exercise program.

Knee Pain

Your knee pain could be the result of general wear and tear, a sporting injury, or an increase in exercise load. Often knee pain limits your ability to independently transport to a clinic, so we will come to you! Our Physiotherapy Practitioners can help you return to your normal function by improving your understanding of the condition, removing the fear associated with movement and reduce pain by providing exercises and coaching to bolster strength and reduce the load through the knee.
