Read moreIn this resource we will look at some of the common mistakes people make that lead to injuries during their training programs to help you avoid these common pitfalls and keep you on track to smashing your 2025 goals!
Following a proper training program is vital in preventing overload injuries. When we increase our load too quickly each week the body may struggle to adapt in time, which can lead to certain structures becoming overloaded.
This can lead to injuries such as bony stress responses and in severe cases, bone stress fractures.
Our Podiatry coaches are skilled in developing running training programs tailored to your goals and fitness level to ensure a safe progression in training load
It is so important to maintain strength in our key muscle groups for running during the training process. As your training load goes up, the importance of maintaining and building strength goes up with it.
Strength training has been shown to reduce the incidence of running related injuries, so it is vital that this becomes part of your routine.
Our physio coaches are skilled in developing strength programs that will support your running goals and help assist in keeping you injury free in your journey towards your goals!
Something that we very commonly hear is the phrase “no pain no gain”. This however, is not always true. There are many pains which we need to stop and take action against, as certain pains, if you try and run through them, can lead to the injury worsening, such as a bony stress injury.
This is not to say all pain is bad! But if in doubt check in with your physio or podiatry coach and they can give you guidance as to the best course of action moving forward.
We can’t wait to see everyone gearing up to smash their 2025 running goals! If you are looking for some guidance on how to stay injury free and tick off these achievements then give us a call on 3399 3318 or book online here.
